Every city has a grand hotel. One regal reminder of that city's past...and progress. It's a place where presidents stay when they come to town. The Westin William Penn, where HPDC 2000 will be held, is such a place. It's the city's one and only Grand Hotel. Situated downtown at 530 William Penn Way, Mellon Square, the Westin is only 30 minutes from the Pittsburgh International Airport.
Across from popular Mellon Square Park, this historic landmark is moments away from the Cultural District: Heinz Hall for the performing arts, Benedum Center and the Andy Warhol Museum. Sports venues, corporate headquarters and the very best shopping in downtown Pittsburgh are steps away.
Enjoy afternoon tea in the Palm Court and dinner at the elegant Terrace Room.
For room reservations, please contact the Westin by phone at 412.281.7100. Or, print out the Reservation Form below and fax your reservation to 412.553.5252.
If you have trouble finding a hotel downtown, HPDC has also arranged for a block of rooms in Holiday Inn in Oakland. Oakland is a short cab ride away from the conference hotel and there is good public transportation (frequent busses) between Oakland and downtown. The Holiday Inn can be reached at 412 682 6200 and the conference rate is $85/night if you mention HPDC-9. The Holiday Inn is within walking distance of the Carnegie Museum, where the conference banquet will be held on Thursday.
