The IEEE author formatting and copyright instructions are available from
IEEE at
ftp://pubftp.computer.org/Press/Outgoing/proceedings. Alternatively, you
can find them at
Please do not exceed 10 pages in the IEEE 8x11 format for your paper.
We need the camera ready papers to be sent electronically to Sean Murphy
smurphy@cs.wisc.edu
in PDF
format by no later than
midnight PDT on April 23, 2004.
Here are some potentially helpful guidelines that will enable us to produce
the highest quality proceedings (courtesy of our good friends at CCGrid).
- Please use the highest quality PDF-creator you can find. There are
many poor tools for creating PDFs, and some of the submitted papers
used them. Please find a professional package (such as Adobe) if
possible.
- Please make sure your documents are easy to read.
- Be careful with advanced PDF features. Some PDF writers will
automatically create links, change colors, etc. Try and keep it
simple.
- Make sure your fonts are English, and you select 8.5x11 inch paper
size. We received a few papers with embedded Asian font sets. This
can play havoc with many PDF viewers not equipped to display Asian
character sets. Please, test your PDF on a computer without Asian
fonts.
- One of the strengths of HPDC is that it is a very international
conference. We have many many papers from around the world.
We are extremely pleased with the international participation
this year.
However, we also received many comments from reviewers that the
English grammar and spelling had trouble on some papers. Please,
double and triple check your submissions. If you need help, please ask.
