Overview
The organizers of the 27th International ACM Symposium on High-Performance Parallel and Distributed Computing (HPDC'18) call for proposals for Workshops to be held on June 11-12, preceding the main conference. Workshops provide forums for discussion among researchers and practitioners on focused topics or emerging research areas relevant to HPDC. Workshops typically include some combination of invited talks, peer-reviewed papers, panel discussions, and work-in-progress talks. We also welcome proposals for agency PI meetings, technical tutorials, or user group meetings that would engage HPDC attendees. Proposers should design workshops for approximately 20-40 participants, lasting either one full day or one half day, depending on interest and space constraints. Proposals for workshops on new topics are welcome, as are proposals to continue previously successful workshops.
Proposal Submission
Workshop proposals should be formatted as a single PDF document describing the following:
- The full name and acronym of the workshop.
- A description of the theme of the workshop and its relevance to HPDC.
- A summary of the structure of the workshop (papers, talks, panels, etc)
- Data about previous offerings of the workshop (if any) including attendance, number of papers submitted and accepted.
- A plan for attracting submissions and attendees to the workshop.
- Brief biographical information of the workshop organizers.
- A significant portion of the program committee, if peer review is to be used.
Please email your proposal to Douglas Thain (dthain@nd.edu) with the title "HPDC Workshop Proposal".
